  • We need fun loving Lead Teachers who thrive planning curriculum based on the children’s interests. Melrose teachers create wonderful engaging activities and projects for the children to work on daily. We need people who are willing to help children think outside of the box, while also preparing them for the real world. Melrose is a private school with high expectations for our staff to enhance the learning of little minds. We teach through hands on learning and not worksheets or flash cards. Children help create the Reggio Emilia based curriculum and learn daily life skills on a regularly.

    Requirements

    - 3+ years Preschool Experience

    - Background in Early Childhood Education

    - DCF 45 hours Childcare Training

    - CPR/First Aid Certification

    Knowledge of Reggio Emilia & Conscious Discipline is a plus - we do train within our staff family

  • We are seeking Teacher's Assistant's at Melrose. Energetic, happy people who will assist and support Lead Teachers. Teachers need a helping hand to prep the classroom for the day, gather materials for projects/activities and keep the classroom clean on a regular basis. Assistants should be self starters and able to take on ownership in the classroom. As well as, work with as a team, since he/she will have two lead teacher to help throughout the day. Moving quickly is a big part of the day, since we are always 10 steps ahead of what the children are ready to do.

    Requirements

    2+ years Classroom Experience is helpful

    DCF 45 hours Childcare Training

    CPR/First Aid Certification

    Knowledge of Reggio Emilia & Conscious Discipline is a plus - we do train within our staff family

  • We are always accepting resumes for substitute teachers. At Melrose we are always looking for an extra hand to help us when a teacher or assistant is out sick or with family. To stay within our DCF requirements, our substitute teachers are used as an extra set of eyes in the classroom. We also need help with cleaning up, changing diapers, prepping for activities, singing and dancing, reading books etc. Substitute teachers are never left alone with the children, unless they meet the DCF requirements. There is no need to plan curriculum and activities, it’s simply a day of playtime and cleaning. If you would like to lend a hand and play with some sweet children, we’d be happy to have you join us.

 

To apply for all Melrose positions, you must have experience in a classroom setting, preferably with preschool students. You must have a deep love and respect for children and enjoy getting dirty. Melrose is a play-based learning environment and our teachers understand and support the importance of this teaching philosophy. Experience with Social and Emotional learning and mindfulness is a plus.
